Our Story

From a Siemens partnership to a global engineering company.

Eastgate Software was born from a partnership between Germany and Vietnam. Co-founders Dr. Paul Mathias and Christian Dowideit, both ex-Siemens engineers, had built MAT Traffic in Aachen to serve the ITS industry. When they needed to scale their engineering capacity for growing Siemens projects, Tuan Nguyen - a senior developer and solution architect already working with MAT Traffic - reconnected with his old secondary school friend Ha Bui, who was building FinTech platforms in the United States. In 2014, the four of them founded Eastgate Software in Hanoi - not as a staffing vendor, but as a dedicated engineering center that would operate as a true extension of the German team. Siemens Mobility was the first client. What started as a single partnership grew as clients saw the quality and asked for more, expanding into FinTech, enterprise platforms, and AI. Today, 200+ engineers across Hanoi, Aachen, and Tokyo serve clients on three continents - and the Siemens partnership that started it all is still going strong.
